Sharpening of Low-carbon Tool Steel Tooth Back
The serration of the hard alloy blade should be higher than the back of the saw body, usually 0.2 to 0.3mm higher. Grind the front radial trimming tool behind the teeth of the hacksaw blade body. Diamond grinding wheels cannot be used for the steel tooth back of grinding tools, but rather silicon carbide or corundum grinding wheels. To avoid excessive temperature, the thickness of the grinding should not be too deep, and the amount of trimming and grinding should be within the range of 0.5 to 1.0mm. The back angle of the blade teeth is 5-10° larger than the back angle of the serrations. If the back angle of the serration is 20°, the back angle of the low-carbon tool hacksaw blade is 25-30°.
